Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Lawyer

Greater Cincinnati Area | Northern Kentucky Area

Despite recent changes to bankruptcy laws, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy relief is still available, and many of our clients have qualified. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy is a debt liquidation bankruptcy as opposed to Chapter 13 bankruptcy (debt reorganization).

Eligibility for Chapter 7 relief is determined by income. In addition, you may be prohibited from filing for Chapter 7 relief if you have filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the past eight years and received a discharge of your debts. Eligibility requirements for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy are different from Chapter 7.

Many of the people who contact our office are able to qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy relief. Although the relief provided by Chapter 7 varies from case to case, a Chapter 7 bankruptcy may be able to help you to:

  • Stop creditor harassment
  • Stop wage garnishments
  • Stop civil judgment enforcement
  • Protect you from deficiency balances (car or home)
  • Reduce or eliminate credit card debt
  • Reduce or eliminate medical bills
  • Reduce or eliminate all dischargeable debts

What about my car and my home?

People who are current on their mortgage and monthly car payment are typically able to keep their home and their car if they are eligible for Chapter 7 bankruptcy relief.
